Alex Gardey is a Switzerland-based guitarist, songwriter, and music educator whose work bridges intimate songwriting, cinematic sound, and guitar-driven production. Moving with ease between textured ambient layers, raw indie energy, and finely crafted melodies, he builds immersive musical narratives that feel at once detailed and direct. His music reflects the same curiosity and precision that shape his teaching: a focus on sound, emotion, and the stories that sit between the notes.

Originally from France and now rooted in the German-speaking region of Switzerland, Alex writes and performs in a multilingual context, drawing on French chanson, rock, alternative, and contemporary pop culture. His songs often combine lyrical sensitivity with a keen sense of groove and harmony, the result of his many years of collaboration with bands ranging from death metal to gypsy jazz, progressive rock, and pop. On stage, he combines expressive guitar playing with carefully sculpted tones, creating arrangements that can shift seamlessly from fragile and minimal to dense and rhythmic.

Beyond performance, Alex is an experienced independent music teacher  with a long-standing practice centered on guitar, band coaching, and creative musicianship. This dual role—artist and educator—feeds his writing: many of his songs grow out of the same listening skills, empathy, and structural clarity he cultivates in the classroom and rehearsal room. Comfortable both as a solo act and in collaboration, he adapts his set-up to the context, from intimate listening rooms and cultural spaces to school events and small festivals.

In the studio, Alex is particularly drawn to textures that feel tactile and human—amp-like dynamics, expressive picking and strumming, and layered harmonies that invite the listener in rather than overwhelm. His current projects include new original material for live performance and recording, collaborations with fellow musicians in Switzerland and abroad, and music-related content for digital platforms.

Whether performing solo with guitar or presenting songs in a band context, Alex aims to create concerts that feel like a conversation: honest, detailed, and emotionally accessible. He is available for concerts in clubs, cultural centers, listening rooms and private events that value musical depth, storytelling, and an intimate connection with the audience.
